No, it's fair. You get 3 of those points back when you choose a best answer. So in reality you're only loosing 2 points.

now i hardly ever ask a question

and i wish there was no limit to how many answers
gotta get up to level 3 for unlimited answers
but i cant earn much points with only 40 anwers a day!
