There are alot of colors that will go with the light green furniture you have.
A few colors that compliment the green shades are yellows like you said and light beiges or tans. Also a darker shade of green in the same hues of your furniture would be soothing.
How about light to medium yellow walls with a fourth wall (the wall with the window) being a medium shade of the green that your furniture is painted. Then, so it isn't "shouting" at you visually, you could frame the window with some floor length curtains that would have the yellow tones in them of your walls. Or the curtains could be in the cream tones with some big circles, squares or random rectangles or stripes sewn onto the cream curtains with embrodery thread so that the stitching showed.
Also, Lowes has "Paint Visualizer" tool that you can pick a bedroom that is similar to yours and try wall colors out on. When you find wall colors you like, you can save them in your notebook to show your friends and parents later on.
Also, have you considered painting the furniture a different color? I like green myself very much, but if you could paint it, you might even want to paint the trim to match your walls or something like that.
Sounds like such a fun project. Oh--if you want to make your own curtains or bedspread etc... you can big flat sheets at Walmart really cheaply and can even dye them in the washing machine to the color of your choice.
Have fun and here's the link the Lowes paint visualizer:

Red and Green are good contrasting colors so if you are girly and like pretty things then go with pink since you have light green. Use a color wheel to find the exact compliment to the color of your green furniture and then you will find the exact shade of pink for your room.
Here is a color wheel I found for you on line. Find your green and look directly across from it on the wheel to find the right shade of pink. Make sure you stay in the sam row though. For example, if you choose a green on the very top row then look across at the pinkish color on the very top row.

I'd go with a nice soft pink. I think pink and a light green is so attractive. Bright and cheery and easy to accessorize with pink geraniums or hydrangeas. You can even throw in some soft purple or lavender to accent. Mix some stripes and prints in those colors and you have a spring Laura Ashley room.

I'd go with a nice pastel yellow/cream color. If you go with a more extreme color, it would be more difficult to coordinate furniture with in the future.
