A mix of social Darwinism and selective Christianity. I am convinced the majority doesn't feel or think of it as hate.

It's very ironic how conservatives constantly claim to be victims (look at recent events on this forum but everywhere if you look with an open mind. Iraq ,the trillion dollar debt, illegal imigration), something they love to stereotype liberals with. It's never their lies, cheating and hate that gets them into trouble no it are evil liberals and their almighty bias.
I'm really convinced American conservatism, the hard core kind anyway has turned into a religious cult and they think it's them against the evil outside world. They are the sole bearers of the Holy Truth and must defend America by any means necessary, including slander( think Clinton bodycount but that list is endless really) against the dangerous liberals who'll turn America in a communist third world country.

Reality science, reason and facts are less important than the ideology. The American political climate is seriously poisoned. The power of the far regressive right in combination with the disconnect from reality and seeing enemies everywhere is dangerous.

Here are a couple of recent articles that might be useful on the topics you listed...

** Bush Conservatism and Civil Rights
--- Bush Admin Stacked Civil Rights Panel With GOPers
"The commission has long been staffed equally with members of both major political parties. To skirt the practice, President Bush appointed two Republican commissioners who then promptly changed their affiliations to independents."
The links detail some of the "accomplishments" over the past three years of a 'stacked deck' (6-2), "compassionate conservative" panel.

--- Bush Maneuvers to Stack Commission on Civil Rights with Conservatives
http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=07/11/08/1449259

** Bush Conservatism, Crony-ism and the Poor
About three weeks ago, Blackwater was awarded a five-year, $15 billion contract because "The U.S. government reportedly wants to use contractors to help its allies thwart drug trafficking and provide equipment, training and people."
http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=07/10/16/1344213

Two weeks ago, Bush gave $1.4 billion, a ten-fold increase, to Mexico to fight the "war on drugs", on top of the additional 196 billion for the wars in Iraq and Iran. But at the same time, when winter heating costs are expected to rise 40%.... the Bush administration is CUTTING funding to the Home Heating programs that assist low-income families.

Are we supposed to get a "warm fuzzy" that there is no more discrimination because the civil rights commission no longer holds hearings and those pesky poor people won't be turning to a life of crime and drug selling to keep their families from freezing this winter??

Pretty much.

But don't say that too loud, the Patriot Act Police will be knocking at your door soon enough. I'll save you a seat in the Paddy Wagon.

Why? You seem to be terminally damaged by either your Liberal education (which seems to have taught you to HATE Conservatism) or by those around you who have taught you to HATE Conservatism and Bush.

Is it compassion to raise 3 generations to be totally helpless and completely dependent upon the government?

I have no hate, no bias, no discrimination towards gays. I have have had gay landlords, gay friends, gay teachers. All the Gay crap slung around by politicians is just so much BS pandering to one side or the other.

Invasion for Oil. Yeah, sure, that's what it was all about. Is denial a learned trait of Liberals or a genetic one?

Most of the HATE I see is coming from the Black community. They howl, protest and feign rightous indignation at every little immagined offense. When their cause turns out to be a bad turnip (Tawana Brawley, the Duke Lacrosse Rape case) we hear nothing about an appology. I think the Jena case is a classic example. They took an imagined offense, NOT A THREAT, and beat up a kid. And these kids are no angels. Just 2 nights ago a Black robber shot at point blank (apx 3 feet) and white 26 year old man as he was walking out of a Sagebrush steak house where he worked. It was 2:30 am and he and 3 others were closing after cleaning up. He told the robber they didn't have any money or access to the safe, they were just cleaning. The man shot him with a shotgun. (Mooresville, NC). This crap goes on all the time. Is this a hate crime? What if the robber had been white and the 4 people black? What about the Black guy who tried to rob me at gunpoint a year ago? Also 2:30 am as I was delivering to a grocery store. Too bad for him I had a gun, too. Almost got him. Hate crime? What was the quest of these two men? More wealth? At least I am willing to work an honest job for mine.

You do yourself no justice by believing your foolish ideals and imagined offenses. All it is doing is building the HATE in you. And you wonder why no one will pay you any attention or give you any credibility?

I don't hate Liberals or Liberalism. I don't hate Bill or Hillary. I just don't believe their agenda is right for this country.

"To give further credence to your argument, feel free to include how we (conservatives) applauded Mrs. Clinton for stiffing a waitress of a tip."

Link? Oh wait, you don't have one, because the story isn't true.

"Editor's Note: Since this story aired, Hillary Clinton's campaign contacted NPR to say that the campaign paid Maid-Rite a bill for $157 the day of Clinton's visit and left $100 in tip money. NPR contacted Maid-Rite manager Brad Crawford, who confirmed that a bill was paid and tip money was left. "

Now, I wonder if the Republican who made the claim will delete his post. And how many thumbs down will Repugs give just because I showed that one of them was bearing false witness. I guess we can judge the honesty of Repugs by the number of thumbs down and the retraction of the post.

Gentrification is the perfect word for describing the quasi Conservative movement.

Much like Georgian & Victorian England when the great estates were built.

No, but it sure seems that today's liberals are. I think the reason that I used to think that liberals were so open-minded, easy going, pleasant, full of love, individuals is because that's what they were back in the 60s and 70s. Now, they are simply full of hate, bigoted, contradictory, closed-minded, seemingly spoiled people who think that they should always get exactly what they want or they'll go on a whine for years.

There has been NO invasion for oil or it wouldn't be up to close to $100 a barrel and so high at the pumps. I no of no one who has a lack of compassion for the poor. My racism comes from experience of racism toward me yet still I take people as they come, I am for gay marriage and pro-choice and for stem cell research and an evolutionist who thinks the idea of creationism is silly. Just pegging all conservatives as you have in your question shows your closed-minded, bigoted, hateful way you see things.

Pfft, you're most likely lying when you say you're going to give a speech about the subject. Anyone who would honestly even listen to you if you think that's what Conservatism is about will be die-hard Liberals.

C'mon at least be honest about why you're insulting Conservatives.

Anyway, here are some things that Conservatives USUALLY stand for: Limited government, Low taxes, Reaganomics (You have Google), Laissez-Faire economics, protection of private property. Ya know like what the original phrase was? "Life, LIBERTY, and PROPERTY"?

Conservatives are against social welfare and programs not because they do not care about the poor. They don't believe in social welfare, because ideologically they believe that it perpetuates poverty, and that it steals from everyone who works hard, especially middle class Americans.

On the social side of things, Conservatives are usually Pro-Life, Anti-Gay Marriage (or what they call defense of traditional marriage), and Christian (Even if it may be a misinterpretation of it).

To say Republicans are bigots is just plain naïve.

You forget about the quest for smaller government. The lowering of taxes. The belief that it is governments job to create an atmosphere where all can be successful on their own without the need of government assistance. The creation of a place where ones prosperity is limited only by their own determination. Not limited by color, creed, or religion.

Stop spreading the liberal stereotype. Your depiction does not describe me, or my families values.
