Is this a good type of cake to use?

Is it still messy and fun for my baby when she digs in for the first time?

Not as yummy, too expensive, and nowhere near as fun or messy. Go for the real thing and save the fondant for her wedding.

I wouldn't think it would be as much as a regular cake with some normal frosting. Much messier and easier to dig into.
