Does he want a baby? I think that if you do feel like this, then you are probably ready. I think that if you are of age, over 18, then go for it. But don't do something just to keep a person in a relationship. Good Luck

Because it is so exciting to have a baby!
However, I must warn you, babies are not all fun and games. I know several people who look at families with babies and see how much fun they are having (at the park, zoo, out to dinner, etc.;) and yearn for that same joy. What they don't see is the late nights, and all the struggles that come too. Keep those in mind, but do know the hard times are worth it. What I really want to warn you of here though, is I see a lot of my friends and family who want a baby because they think it would be fun.. I also have worked with a lot of children with disabilities. (down syndrome, autism, blind, deaf) It is easy to think you would never have a child like that, but getting to know their parents, they are just like any other couple, get pregnant, and their baby isn't what they imagined.
If you are ready to love and care for a baby even if it has a serious problem, then you are ready to have a baby.

The idea of having a child is very exciting to most women, but I'm telling you from first hand experience that you would be better off waiting until you are financially secure, and mentally prepared. If you feel like you aren't 100% ready to devote your entire life to a baby then take precautions to prevent pregnancy. I had my first child when I was 16 with a guy I thought was the love of my life, and I would have never imagined he'd leave me 2 months after our son was born. I gave up my social life, my education, and my privacy way too early. I was excited to be pregnant, but at such a young age I didn't realize what I was getting myself into. Now I'm married to the real love of my life, and we just had a daughter... You'll know when the time is right to have a child. In the meantime, offer to babysit for your friends/neighbors/whoever so that you can see how much work it is to take care of a child, and also detour yourself from wanting one right now.

It sounds like you are ready but maybe "we" or "he" is not ready for you to have doubts. Sit down and really talk it out just to make sure you are both on the right track. Also, two people are never 100% ready without any doubts. I'm pregnant with #2 and sometimes think, "Wow, here I go!"

Its because you want a baby. If you are financially able to do it and you BOTH want a baby so bad....go for it. Just keep in mind things like:

Will you both work?
Childcare costs can be aroun 500-700 a month.
There is the insurance question.
Extra food, diapers, baby clothes every other week at first it seems cause they grow so fast.
etc.

You'll never feel 100% ready. No one does! Having a baby is a BIG change in many ways. Discuss this with your partner, see how he feels. It will happen when it's meant to happen. Good luck!

If you don't know if your ready, you probably aren't. Do you have a home to take the baby to? Do you have income enough to support the baby?

babies are great but i suggest you wait until you can afford to. A baby is alot of work emotionally and financially. If you cannot afford it trust me you will be stressed out.
