Can snake venom be taken orally?

I have relative who swears by 'snake pills.' Basically it's snake venom that's taken orally. It's supossedly a cure all to aches and pains. I was just wondering if anyone else has heard of this or tried it. Thanks!

the protiens in any venom are pretty much destroyed by stomach acids, it is a scam. your relative feels better because of the "placebo effect", ie, he/she BELIEVES it will work, so it does.

you can eat snake venom it wont hurt you unless injected
