How come a total of 321 could not be defended by India? In last game if India restricted pak to 239, then why this time they could not stop the pak momentum? This in my opinion shows that the problem is with bowlers, not the batsmen. The bowlers fail to take wickets, concede too many runs and have difficulty in their lines and lengths.

Partcularly how come the bowlers failed to break the 105 run, 76 ball parternship of Younis Khan and Misbah ul haq?

134 runs were to be scored in last 15 overs for pak to win and i was confident that it would be impossible task, but the bowlers just kept getting beaten till the end from thereon.

Is it time to get new bowlers and replace the current brand of bowlers?

Also why Afridi is able to punish indian bowlers so frequently when his average is only 23 runs?

I have been seeing this for the past several years that Afridi punishes Indian bowlers in majority of games. His sixer in the 49th over sealed indian chance of winning.

Pakistan played better and won. Indian team had taken it very easy after scoring 321 knowing Pakistan had never chased 320 but all credit to Younis and Misbah who steadied the ship for Pakistan and then Afridi and Tanveer finished the job in style. Indians were a bowler short and their fielding was not upto the mark today. I believe its a great series and we expect to see more thrillers ahead. Happy deevali to Indian friends.

Few reasons I can think of:
- Massive mistake by selectors by taking in Sehwag. Sehwag should be dropped and replaced by either Dravid or a 5th bowler (Murali Karthik)
- after the 1st half of the Pak innings, India cut some slack. it could be seen in their attitude
- some instances of misfielding
- Main REASON HOWEVER - LACK OF 5TH BOWLER along with poor bowling by lead Indian fast bowlers like Zaheer Khan

I feel india were over confident when they posted the total of 321 and they under estimated Pakistan. They allowed younis Khan, Shoaib Malik and Mishab to settle down by defensive bowling instead of attacking and not allowing them to settle down. Couple of missed catches also did not help the cause of India.

Just posting 300+ total will not ensure victory.
India herself should have posted 350+.
So 320 is not an impossible task.
Shortage of one bowler prevented them from an attacking bowling.
Plus the fielding lapses and not bowling to the field.

For first 15-18 overs Indian team has thought that they got this match in their bag . and when they realised. the match was over.
secondly the worst bowling in second spells . by all of the indian bowlers.

I have said this in my previous answer:
India lost not for any one particular error, but for the slack attitude of the whole team.

They were so sure they would win that they just did not bother to put in effort. They took it very easy. And they woke up very late.

They did not even bat well.
Pak won as they had the drive.
Hope they do better.

And latest is , Anil Kumble is the next Captain.

no i dont think tht bowlers r fully responsible for today's defeat...capt. of team india is also responsible n fielding was not up to the mark in today's match...i think yuvi's dropped catch of younis khan was the turning point of match....

Poor bowling

Dropped catches

Nervous fielders making wild throws and letting the batsmen get easy runs.

reasons are- supporting pitch for batting, bad line and length of bowlers, dew factor ( its always hard to grip the ball in such conditions) and the most important of them that Pakis had in their minds to win this game.

It was a sheer case of overconfidence of Indian Team and underestimation of the opponent's skill.
