Actually, once you've internalized that truth, it's actually a lot easier to get on with your own life. You can stop fretting over the 'big picture' and 'fate of humanity,' and focus on living a life that is good, or fun, or moral (or whatever seems worthy to you).

The human race has gone on for a good long time, through Naziism, Stalinism, the Great Depression, the Napoleonic Wars, the Reformation, the Crusades, the Inquisition, and countless plagues, earthquakes, famines, etc.
Lots of things get better & better, also. Humans today have far longer lifespans, better medical care, better housing, better educations, and higher living standards than at any other period in history!!
It sounds like maybe your life lacks meaning. Do you not have rewarding work to do, hobbies, art, or physical activity? Could you not make more friendships or relationships? I'd recommend that you 1) get a creative outlet, like writing, music, or poetry 2) do more physical stuff, like working out, running, joining a sports team 3) try to make some cool friends 4) and/or go back to school, which might also satisfy numbers 1-3.
I'd be careful, to, of people who might take advantage of you while you're feeling down or otherwise vulnerable - radical religious cults or sects, fringe political movements, sexual seducers, scam artists, etc.
Keep a level head on your shoulders. If things seem really hopeless, find a recommemded professional to talk to - a good therapist can help you turn your life around. No one should have to live with daily despair or hopelessness.
The world's always somehow managed to take care of itself. What seems to be a more pressing concern for you right now is your own needs - and the best thing you can do for the world right now might be to take care of yourself.
Hope this helps! Bonne chance!!

Well, now that you have made this discovery, what do you want to do? If we lie down and give up, we are making the statement that nothing can be done and the bad guys win. Maybe they do, but I am a better person than that. So, in my ineffective, pathetic and impotent little way, I get up each day to face a dirtier world than the day before. I do it because I love my family. I do it because I love humanity. I choose to go on because if enough of us just went about our lives being decent people and stopped feeling overwhelmed with all the garbage, maybe the garbage would become less overwhelming. Things happen in this world mostly because we approve. We approve by saying and doing nothing about it. Live your life. Don't let the bastards win.

Oh well, if you're going to convince yourself that dooms day is just around the corner, then I can imagine what a bad place you're in. I have a son to love and care for. I don't have the time to worry about how terrible the world is. Once you get out of your teenage years, you won't, either.

If you left America you might be suprised at how your life view may change. I know that they are going to screw the whole world up for the rest of us. I know that there is no stopping them, along with China, North Korea, Iraq, Iran, et al....But until that day comes I am in a place of happiness, freedom and tranquility. It makes it a lot easier to get up in the morning.

Somedays it may look as if we're doomed. And by our own actions and hands at that. One thing I have learned is, that eventually this to shall pass.
