No. They have only become "standard" in the last year. If your computer is older then that, it probably does not have a wireless card.
To check, right click on the My Network Places (or Network Neighbor - depending on your version of Windows). It will show you all the available network types on your computer. If you have a wireless adapter it will be listed there.
