I checked the the specs, i have an 8800GTS, and I saw that there is now an 8800GT, I looked at the specs and they seem to be better than the GTS is this true, because I wanted to get another one for SLi mode but if that one is better should I just geta another one,
just another general gaming question here
I have gears of war and halo 2 for PC, everynow and then I will get a bit of fps loss to about 3fps, is it because I need more video memory, but I have 2GB of EPP RAM and it says total video meory is 1.15GB and my video card the 880GTS has 320MB of VRAM so whats wrong my processor is also an AMD FX-62 2.8Ghz
and everything is cooled properly too my cpu doesn't go above 40C, OS is vista but these games were built for vista so whats wrong and don't say CPU because I dont care about you intel enthusiasts telling me to get a core 2, I dont have money to upgrade as I pay college tuition and have an OEM OS cause I built the PC myself.

Yes i do play multiplayer too, but it happens in single player mode as well
but it's vista it uses a lot of services for nothing
so I know there is a code patch from the MSDN to turn off these features and save memory but I can't find it anymore when I looked at the website if someone could give me a link to that nifty program that turns off all the memory hogging stuff I would appreciate it and the PSU is a 600watt, I only built this back in july and its still a pretty kick *** machine,
does any body know if this will work too
I have windows vista home premium OEM, built my pc myself and went OEM to save cash, could I upgrade to premium retail, would my Operating system become RETAIL so that I could swap out the processor and possibly the motherboard and have no errors just wondering because when the AMD Phenom X4 comes out I was going to upgrade but I need to know if this is will work first to save me some money, Thanks, in the mean time though anybody know how to increase perfm

i would think it to be psu - its an odd problem its more likely to be a psu issue than a cpu one though if your card doesnt get enough juice (and the 8800gts needs lots) your performance will suffer

as to the cards the GTS is the better on get another and sli if you can (i envy you i have a 7600gs)

The 8800gt is runing rings around the gts right now, I have tested both side-by-side in my shop on Tuesday, and the benchmarks for both are great, but the 8800gt out performs the gts by a 25% margin. I tested these cards because I have had customers call and come in with question after the 8800gt hit the market. I was able to run bioshock with not limitations in full mode, and Crysis, and ran through Call Of Duty. I bet my money on the new 8800gt, and it cost less.

i recently offered a GeForce 8600GTS 256MB, and it performs Halo 2 Vista very properly. i could recommend the 8800 GTS video card. before everything by using fact the GeForce 7950GT is turning out to be previous now anyhow...yet additionally that the size of the cardboard (i.e. 256 vs. 512MB) does not somewhat count selection after, approximately 256MB...your card will as a results of no skill ought to hire all that area. The eVGA looks like the extra ideal of the two in my opinion.

Hi. That sounds more like other processes running in the background. Task Manager will show you and allow some to be turned off. (You do not mention if you play online or single player.)
