-_-' It's not Yahoo that would hurt you, it'd be the people on it. Idiot. Anyway, no, you can't. You're here of your own free will, aren't you?

I don't think so, if you are talking about posting a question for the world to answer you have opened yourself up for whatever may come your way. Yahoo is providing the forum but has no control over the responses of others.

I enjoy answering questions but never in a million years would I post a personal question on any forum for the world to see much less respond to. And I think that anyone who follows the advise of total strangers has bigger problems in their life (I say this since your question is posted under marriage and divorce).

Also, I feel pretty certain that Yahoo has more $$ for attorneys than you do so unless you are prepared financially for a long, expensive court battle... that you will not win. Try to come to terms with the fact that there are a lot of idiots answering these questions and counseling might help you overcome the mental and emotional pain caused by whatever Yahoo did.

If Yahoo as a corporation intentionally or negligently inflicts severe emotional distress upon you, then they are liable in tort. Punitive damages are possible, depending on the nature of the harm caused.

Okay, that's the legal answer. For those of us who live in a place I like to call "reality," the answer is no.

You can certainly TRY...

A Judge with even half a brain would likely toss the case with prejudice (you couldn't re-file).

Yahoo is a service provider. They assume ZERO liability for what someone does with their service.

Now, if you are saying that a Yahoo employee (and you can PROVE they are employed by Yahoo) is abusing you while acting as an agent of the company, and you've complained and there has been no action, then yes you can.

only if you can convince a judge that the actual company caused you a real damage. However, I assume someone hurt you while using yahoo. If that is the case you would have to try to sue the person who utilized yahoo in the process of hurting you. It is like, I cannot sue Toyota if a drunk driver uses one of their products to run into me. I would have to try to go after the driver.

Now a days you can sue anyone. How could you sue Yahoo unless you work for them or something? Yahoo is used by people for various things. Is a person bothering you? When you sue someone or a company you have to be very specific to win your case.

You can sue anyone for any reason whatsoever. Your chances of prevailing depend upon the strength of your case and how well you communicate that to the judge and/or jury.

I don't recall the exact language of the Yahoo! Terms of Service
. However, they probably require you to go through binding arbitration. Some states say this language cannot limit your rights.

Damn, missed another Troll alert. Forgot to check age of profile and points.

How can Yahoo hurt you?

You CAN sue Yahoo for anything.....whether or not you would win is a different story.

If you were offended here on Yahoo Answers, the odds of you winning against Yahoo is close to impossible.

You can sue anyone for anything in this country. You need to find a lawyer willing to take the case and then hope a judge doesn't throw it out. But, simply put, you can file suit. Will you win? Hmm....

How would that help? If you feel hurt by something they've done, tell them - then let it go. Getting money from them isn't going to fix anything except possibly your bank balance.

We all need to face up to the fact that how we react to things people do or say to us is our choice. Choose joy! It's so much better.
