Whenever I try to turn on my laptop it goes to the screen to choose a user once I choose a user it seems like its going to start up but is interrupted by a blue screen telling me there is a file that is not complete and will not start up the computer. Its an older Toshiba so it doesnt have a recovery disc installed in it but a friend told me I needed it for it to start up???? Is that my only option is a recovery disc?

Hi. Well it's the simplest. Try 'Safe Mode' to see if it will boot. If not, write down the name of the corrupted file and see if there is a site that can give you a fresh copy. Good luck!
