Typically not my word of choice, but I think that there was more to this conversation then we will ever get to hear. The son had a motive and agenda. He has legal issues and was on the edge for being returned to prison for violations of his parole. When you have others that have known Dog for years coming forward to say that there had to be something else here, you know that there is a problem. Dog's own choice of a spiritual leader is a man of color. He defends Dog.
A&E took a cowardly stand by canceling the show; especially when they are still trying to reap rewards by having it listed on their web site. A&E is just as low as Dog's was son for selling the tape to the Enquirer. I hope he is happy for profitting at the expense of his family.
My only question here is that this converstion supposedly took place in the spring of this year, why the wait before selling it to make a profit? Seems like there is some level of blackmail going on curtosy of Dog's son. As for the girlfriend, she was with him and saw what he was getting into; if she did nothing to stop him from going down the wrong path, then Dog had a right to be upset; but he needs to think before he opens his mouth.

I'm sure that at least once in everyone's life they use the "N" word. Perhaps it is said in jest, or as a joke, or harmlessly, or maybe it is purposefully said to inflict emotional harm and to be bluntly mean.
No matter the case, until you, yourself uses it and it is used towards the "wrong" person, or overheard by the "wrong" person, and taken as the racial slur that it is, one does not always realize the inappropriateness of that word.
Every ethnicity, race, color, creed, and religion has a slur associated with it. Most everyone has referred to another in an inapproriate way at least once.
Being disrespectful to one another is worng in every way, racial slur or not. Calling you child or loved one "dumb" or "stupid" is as emotionally damaging as calling a Hispanic the "S" word, a Jew the "K" word, or an African American the "N" word.
Why do people think that name calling is OK? There are jokes that use these terms, and I think that many of them are funny, I am very careful to repeat them in company that I am close to and it will not offend. But you know what? That is still very wrong.
I have used, and probably will still (from time to time) use these words. I am not proud of it, and I don't know why that I do. I try very hard not to. I love all people equally, and if I dislike or hate you, rest assured it is because you are an @**hole, and not because of your race, color, creed, or religion.
I think that Dog deserves forgiveness and a second chance. If he screws up a second time, then rake him across the coals, take away his show, and lable him a racist. Until then, lets give him the benefit of the doubt. I saw him on Larry King last night, and he seems sincere and apologetic. Everyone deserves a second chance. We have all screwed up in one way, shape, or form.
To all of you that have actually read all of this, I applaud you. i really rambled on!!! Thank You.

It's never okay for white people to say that word, it's common sense and people should stop trying to act so confused about why it's wrong. You're not 6 years old, I'm quite convinced anyone over the age of 10 understands it's offensive. I don't think black people should even use it, and a lot don't. I love Dewayne Chapman, but I'm not really surprised either. So I guess he really should have known better, and maybe this will stop him from PRETENDING it's okay to use that word. Because that's all he was doing. Now The Dog has been represented twice in South Park...once as himself, and now he's just another "N" guy like Don Imus, and Michael Richards...lol.

This was a private family matter and should never have been brought to the media. The tabloid magazines have no morals in what they print and don't care about hurting anyone. It's all about money. I've never used the N word in all my life. That's disrespectful if you ask me. My husband was a Marine for 20 years and African-Americans were referred to as "dark green" I have no idea where they got that term from, but this is now how we talk. It's not disrespectful, just something the military created. Look at the show The Jefferson's. Didn't Mr. Jefferson refer to whites as honkeys? People are always going to use race as a negative thing and it's up to us adults to teach our children to treat everyone the same, no matter what their color is.

I think that Dog was a good guy, who turned into a complete hypocrite when they started putting him on TV. He (said) he was christian, believed in God etc. but after being on TV, I'm thinking the producers wanted more action out of him, so he started to do what they asked, and forgot his beliefs and just started saying things without thinking about it. It's possible he is racist and it's sad to say his recent behaviour has changed my view of him. I was reading his biography, but stopped the second I heard what he said about his son's girlfriend. I'm not racist myself and would never say such a thing to my son, regardless of how much I disliked his new GF. I hope he realizes where he screwed up and admits he was wrong. I personally don't understand why african-americans can use that word and I can't without being called racist, but i have also heard there's a difference in the way it's pronounced. One is racist and one is not. I dont' use either of them, but that really confuses me. Perhaps I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time. But that is my thought on this whole mess.

Whoa. Bummer individuals are showing their stupidity and scarcity of lifestyle so blatently. Sorry you have been the sufferer to that junk. No, it rather is the 1st i've got heard that factor era. In my kinfolk we humorous tale and chortle over our 'morning breath', yet I call it 'dragon breath'. We often times initiate the destroy day joking and giggling approximately how risky our breath is as quickly as we awaken. we are basically a bunch of sillies. Racism is yet another tale, regardless of if. that's by no skill very properly to break somebody else; picking on somebody's lifestyle/appearances is the stupidest, lamest difficulty i'm able to think of. people who behave racist are somewhat selfish and can't see their own shortcomings. i choose which you would be able to stay risk-free. Be as careful as you will desire to be. Rednecks. Say not extra...

you know what he is rough around the edges and my point being he did not say anything worse than what I have heard in rap songs . why are all the rappers not off the air ? also his son is a junkie and he must have needed money pretty badly to betray his family . and that girl he is with is just as bad cause she went along with Tucker doing this . it was said last night on Larry King that g/f of tuckers was threatened by some of dogs fans . Oh well you sew what you reap and if she was any kind of woman she would have told tucker no. I am so glad that most of his kids are well behaved and dont turn on him . god bless dog and his family except for tucker and the witch he calls his girlfriend . i hope the two of those gold diggers rots in hell .

Here's the thing: Blacks have made a conscience decision to choose HOW the word is used. It has had hurtful, negative connections since brought to this country and being called a N***** was ALWAYS an insult. The slave master never said," Hey my N, come get this a** whup pin, then we'll hang out.Everyone who can read knows this to be true. I don't use it but that is my choice.
I just don't quite understand why other races are so hell bent on using the word anyway. Is it a privilege thing? Please answer me that.
Dog was also a crackhead. Wonder how he would feel to be called that?

I as a black person...NEVER USE IT!!
So when someone says black people use it all that time that is a lie!
It is a terrible word that can be linked with the murder of slaves and civil rights activists through its entire life as a word.
If you listen to the call he says that he does not want his son dating a "n" because they like to use the word and he is not taking a chance of her complaining about it to a tabloid.
He did not want to stop using the word...he just did not want to get caught using it.
It is hurtful and hateful!! I dont use it, I dont let anyone call me it.

not just black people say it too each other, people that usually listen to hip hop or rap music use it as a "friendly" term, dog was in no way being friendly, also he said ****.ER the way rap songs and others use it is ****.A. the er is what makes it a racial slur, and i have to say that i am very disappointed in dog, i used to watch his show because i thought that he was someone that was well rounded and in his profession and previous back round he was a man of many people, but now i see he's just another ignorant redneck with his foot in his mouth.
