Why are people getting sex changes, saying they're the opposite sex in the wrong body? God knew exactly what He was doing when he made us, so why call Him a liar? To make it worse, why are they giving children these operations, especially since they don't really know too much about their own sex? The ones I've seen so far don't fool anybody, but now I don't know what to look at anymore. Damn, what is this creepy **** all about?

First of all, no one ever said anything about being "anti-gay", and second of all, Adam and Eve didn't want to switch places, but we're all entitled to our own opinion.

The term "transgender was started by Charles "Virginia" Prince: a married crossdresser who hated transsexuals and felt superior to crossdressers.

In the 1960s, the existence of heterosexual crossdressers was being recognized by the general public. Support groups were available only for crossdressers and transsexuals at the time. Prince thought his expression of gender was the middle between the two and that is how transgender started. For people that felt past a crossdresser but not quite transsexual, gender ambiguous people.

The term “transgender” got misapplied to transsexuals and perhaps most crossdressers in the 1990s with the beginning of the Gay Rights Movement. Dr. Sarah Fox (a medical doctor who is transsexual) performed a survey of discrimination against gay people based on gender non conformity in Ohio. Over two thirds of survey respondents felt they were discriminated on these grounds. As a result of this survey, the Gay Lobby felt a need to protect transsexuals and transgender people as a means of preventing backdoor discrimination against gay people. Since transgender people have the more access and contact with gay people than most crossdressers and transsexuals do, the term got misapplied when the gay lobby started lobbying for gender identity and gender expression non discrimination.

The modern sex change operation began in the 1950s (Google search Christine Jorgenson). Sex hormones were developed in the 1960s. Female hormones were used primarily for birth control and male hormones as anabolic steroids for medical conditions were they were needed. Sex hormones were also used to treat transsexualism at that time as well.

John Hopkins University was the first Institute to attempt to regulate transsexualism and transsexual people. It is here that the term came to widespread use in the medical community.

As far as how long these types of people have existed for? They have existed for as long as humans and pre humans (human ancestors) have existed. Transsexualism exists in animals as well. History documents these type of people minus the modern terminology of course.

If your questions is regarding the modern spike in open transsexualism, transgenderism and sex change surgeries, that is due to the modern internet. This information was suppressed from public knowledge since the collapse of the Roman Empire.

Transgender women were known as "gallae" back then. Post castration women and female gendered hermaphrodites were known as "mellissae" (information I discovered AFTER I legally changed my name), the highest ranking of the Gallae. The terms used for female to male transsexuals in Roman times were "antineirai" or "tribades".

To answer your question transgendered individuals have existed forever since the beginning of society. Some just choose the hide it and act like everything was okay. Maybe one day hun you can understand something pretty simple, transgender people are just that people like me and you, children of God, not below or above each other but standing in unity and that ultimately no earthly being as the right to say what is right and wrong and to judge, that's friend is God's job.

Transgender 'started' when human beings started, or possibly much sooner, as it occurs in rats, dogs, and other animals as well as in human beings. It is a neurological birth defect where for whatever reason, the person litterally is born with a female brain and male body, or vice versa... I've read that some of the earliest cases of hormone replacement therapy for transsexuals we're in china about 2000 years ago, but that much I have not been able to verify. Transsexuals are not 'fooling' anyone, they are living the life they were denied at birth. Personally, I know for absolute certainty transitioning is the only option for me... I cannot live with this the rest of my life... I point that out because for many other transsexuals, the feeling is just as intense... maybe worse! In other words, if god doesn't approve of us, then god is asking us to suffer and lead absolute miserable lives... and I just can't believe any righteous God would want that...

My answers are as follows, in the most logical (to me) order:
Adam and Eve? I'm not sure you get the issue here precisely. Gender and sex are two different things. Gender is in the brain, sex is determined by the organs of reproduction. A person who is transgender doesn't "want" to switch places. They feel much like how you might if you woke up in the wrong person's body. In fact, science (brain scans) have shown that there is some part of the brain that is different in females from males and vice versa. In transgender people, these parts actually correspond with those of the gender they identify as.

If God makes no mistakes, making transgender people can't be a mistake. Putting children through so much agony (high suicide rates and depression and anxiety are common) just to influence other people seems a little bit strange. Of course, I'm not God, so I wouldn't know how he thinks of that. Perhaps we need to learn to love and accept children for who they are, but also to encourage them towards following God? Nowhere in the Bible that I can remember does it say transgender people are committing a sin by being transgender-of course, the term didn't exist, but I can't recall anything similar, either.

Actually, in fact, when it comes to you saying you "don't know what to look at" to tell what a person is, why not just ask? If they identify as something, it's your job to either support them, be unsupportive, or to tear them down. As a Christian, you can't tear them down, so that leaves hurting them every time you don't accept them or accepting them. You don't even have to support their every decision, but you need to support and love the person. Their sins (if you consider them sins) can't be changed by yelling a lot. Just accept them and offer your own guidance if they ask. A good book to read would be "Becoming Nicole". It's really good and helped me understand things. Another book is "George". "George" is fiction, but it still helps.

It's not creepy and you obviously know NOTHING about transgendered issues. It's not calling God a liar anymore than going to a doctor to fight cancer, or any more than taking meds or seeing a counselor for being bipolar or any mental illness is. These people don't WANT to feel this way, they just do. They were born like that. Do some research before saying dumb ****. Oh and it started a LONG time ago. Way before you were born.

God wants people to be happy. No-one ever said that God doesn't make mistakes, seriously, it's not even in the Bible. So sometimes God makes a mistake with the body He gives someone and He wants them to be happy so having the hormones and the operations or using binders or fake breasts is His will and He will want that to happen if it makes the transgender person - female, male, gay, bisexual, lesbian, adult, child - happy.

God wants acceptance amongst His people. If you believe that God's own creation is 'creepy' then who are you to use Him against transgender people? In this way you are making people unhappy. In that way you are no Christian in God's eyes.

Transsexualism has been around as long as humanity (and 'transgender' has been around as long as we've had clothes and gender roles).
People are getting 'sex changes' because that's the ONLY effective treatment for transsexualism.
For the sake of this question, let's assume that your God exists; God undoubtedly DID know exactly what he was doing when he made us, and he made some of us transsexual; we don't know why, because God doesn't feel it necessary to explain his reasons to his creations, but WE don't question them; why do you?

And since you brought up Adam and Eve, here's something for you to think about;
If Eve was made from Adam's rib, she was made entirely from his genetic material, including his chromosomes; which means she must have been an XY woman....which is exactly what transsexual women (and some intersex women) are....

Don't bring God into something that's got nothing to do with God. Some people don't believe. Some people do. And you sound pretty transphobic, just to be clear. Some people's brains are wired differently, you could say. We just don't feel like we're ourselves in our assigned at birth sexs. It's just how it is. Binary braking actually started 2000 bc back in Egyptian times, when people would openly be binary breaking (sorry, I love that term) and do so freely as young as they choose

Transgender people are mentally ill gay people basically. To think being a Man or a Woman is simply a matter of parts is to devalue what it is to REALLY be male or female.

My theory is that we are reincarnated and the people who are transgendered might have been the opposite sex in the last life..........I've seen some who could fool you!
