Super Joe has given hockey 20 excellent seasons. All with one team! He has won a couple cups and a few awards along the way. He is even one of the top ten point getters of all time. That would definitely make him great. When he retires they will put him in the HHOF on the first ballot.
Is he the greatest? Aside from friends, family and Avs fans, I'm pretty sure not many others could put him in that category. I think some guys named Gordie, Mario, Bobby, Maurice, and Wayne are still ahead of him.

Yes Joe B, he was greater than Peter Forsberg. For the sole reason that he has actually played 18 years. Unlike Forsberg who keeps getting injured. Joe Sakic is a great player, and I'm pretty sure he has the most different MVP awards ever. Conn Smythe, Hart, MVP of the All Star game, MVP of the Olympics, I think there might be one more there too, lol.

There is no question that he is a great player, very well rounded and knowledgable about the game. As an Avalanche fan, I will even say he isn't the greatest. But he is up there.

Then............in a tighter era..........he becomes the oldest player in NHL history to record a 100 point season...........and barring retirement, he'll be the captain of the 2010 Olympic team.

Good On Ya Joe!

Great. He doesn't even make my top 10 for "greatest." But he's definitely great.

1st ballet Hall of Famer for sure but I don't think he is the most well round or the best in any category you could think of.
