It's normal. At least you didn't experience it until now. I was feeling that way at about 30 weeks and stayed that way until my baby was born. It was so frustrating to run to the bathroom just to hear a little tinkle and that was it. Good luck!

That is very normal. The baby is more than likely in the head down position already and has dropped putting pressure on your bladder which makes even the smallest amount of fluid in them feel like you are going to burst. Frequent urinating isn't really a sign of labour. Signs of labour you should be looking for
Passing the mucus plug. This will look a bit like snot and may be tinged with blood. The baby will slow down in movement and have longer periods of sleep. For more information see the source below as there is some information about what you can expect as early labor signs

Yes, it most likely is because of your baby pushing on your bladder. If you are concerned about it at night, you may want to stop drinking any liquid about two to three hours before bedtime and try to go to the bathroom just before heading to bed. There isn't much else you can do and if you haven't had the baby yet (not sure when you wrote this because I didn't look.. smart, huh?) you should be okay once the baby is born. Good luck - and congratulations!

Yes, it's because the baby is pushing on your bladder, making it smaller, and not able to hold as much liquid. Not only that, but being pregnant weakens your muscles "down there" that help to hold in urine until you get to the toilet, and that could be the problem also.

i would say that it is just the baby pushing on your bladder. obviously the more your baby grows the less room your bladder has to fill therefor when it fills a little you feel as if its extremely full and like ur going to wee urself! i found it a real pain with my 2nd baby. All the best

That is normal. However anytime you are concerned you need to be checked for a bladder or kidney infection (and before people tell you that it would burn or sting to pee if you have one of those, no it does not. It only burns if you have a urinary tract infection.) But it can cause labor to start and since you are 38 weeks, that could be a good thing. Call your doctor.
Congrats.

I really don't think labor is close but i just believe since baby is bigger (congrats, 38 wks!!) then more weight is on your bladder. That's how i was at 20-something weeks!! But if you feel that it's not normal then don't hesitate to call your doctor. Again, congrats!!!

It probably means the babys resting right on your bladder. Its my due date today, and I tell you, I have to pee every hour or so, or it HURTS! haha, and I run (well...waddle run) right to the potty. I mean, I dont know for sure as every woman is different, if it worries you, call your doctor. What REALLY sucks is when you have that urge...but with #2 instead of 1.....thats where I'm at but I think about to pop anyways.

The closer you get to delivery the more pressure you feel. The baby is moving into position to be born. If you have any kind of burning sensation or if your urine smells strong you may be dehydrated or have a urinary tract infection, in this case you need to see your OB right away. Dehydration and UTI's can cause preterm labor. Otherwise this is normal as the baby transitions him/herself to be born. Good Luck!!
