The news networks could focus on other more important stories, like the tragic flooding of the Mexican state of Tabasco, or the mudslide that wiped out an entire town in the state of Chiapas, also in Mexico. Maybe the public would get to know about the dangers of trying to wade through water that is infested with snakes and crocs, not to mention dead bodies. In the light of these tragic events that should appeal to our generous nature, Mr. Simpson's apparently big problem seems pointless and superficial.

How sad because it seems we have conveniently forgotten that Mexico was one of the first to send aid relief during the Katrina crisis.

Actually, CNN is going live with this in a moment, I don't know about Fox, but of course I guess their job is to follow the money and the ratings.

Tentoes I guess that international tragedies affect us all. Human suffering should make us want to help somehow.

Americans are perceived by the rest of the world as insular and isolated, our only knowledge of the rest of the world is what we get through the media and that tends to center on local and national news, to the point of excluding the rest of the planet. 9/11 should have taught us that already.

I have to agree with the overdog media coverage of trivial news events. I get a good laugh listening to the mega-media repeat over and over and over and over....what few facts they've managed to gather over one story. And things get even more laughable when they repeat the same drool, but try presenting it from different angles.

True....you can't paint a rose by any other color.

O.J.'s courtroom woes should have merited no more than 15 minutes---and that's generous in my book. The only way I'd allow more airtime to the case is if something profound happened live during the trial....like hearing O.J. give a full flat out confession to the Nicole Simpson/Ron Goldman murder on record....or seeing him rip wide open in the banal rage he's well hidden all this time.

O.J. is done for this time---and he knows it.

Oh hell no. Who wants to see another episode of American UNJustice? He 'could' get a life sentence out of this but who wants to bet me that he walks again? The witness are so far from being credible that it's just going to be a mistrial of the century again and once again, a huge waste of the taxpayers money.

I hope I am wrong but I don't see much hope for justice.

I think that because you mention that these two tragedies are in Mexico and not the United States, it does not 'directly' effect us.

Also, I think that some news websites have streaming video so that you continue to visit their site and click on the advertisements to gain money from their advertisers.

I haven't heard anything about OJ's court appearance being televised......in fact, I haven't heard anything about OJ.

I agree with you though, it would make more sense to televise the probems in Mexico and at least let the world know these people need as much help as possible.

I'd rather watch "Barney" as to have to endure another OJ Simpson saga.
