My husband just ripped my butt for vacuuming, and I never had problems before with it.

I don't know what his reasoning is, he said to ask my doctor and i will just to prove him wrong. he said he does not want me vacuuming or mopping. Cool he can do then, right?

I have never heard of this one, but aqua gives a good point. If your husband is willing to do it, let him.

I would suggest though that once the baby is born to make sure you vacuum while they are sleeping so the slightest noise won't wake them up. I vacuumed every other day for the first 2 months after I brought my daughter home just to make sure she would sleep through it. Now she sleeps through most everything. Including her father's snoring :)

My cousin told me to not vacuum while pregnant too. I asked my OB and she laughed and said maybe she doesn't want to vacuum so she came up with that. Obviously, carrying the vacuum up the stairs might not be a good idea but my doctor said I can go on vacuuming which I don't mind because my husband never moves the furniture to vacuum underneath them.

I've never heard about this before. I vacuumed through 2 pregnancies and had 2 healthy children. Now, I'm expecting my third. I still vacuum at times although my husband helps me (not because I'm pregnant but because I'm busy with my two other kids).
Anyway, if your husband doesn't want you to and he's willing to do it instead, why not? One less household chore for you :-)

lol what? Of course you can vaccum. Millions of women have been vaccuming while pregnant throughout years. The sound does not bother the baby nor does the movements you do while vaccuming.

But if you really wanna mess with him then just say "okay sweety guess you'll have to do it for now. Also while were at it, I'm supposed to stay away from chemicals too so you might as well do all the cleaning."

I vacuumed through all my pregnancies what was his reasoning behind this???

As to the chord getting wrapped around the babies neck (the doula lady) thats an old wives tale I have had 3 healthy baby girls and I vacuumed and washed my floors and everything else you would do normally till I had them....And I am this time too...

but I agree if he would rather do it milk it :)

Of course you can vacuum! That's just crazy! I vacuumed and cut the grass up through my 7th month. My cousin cut the grass through her ninth month! You need all the excercise you can get. It will help with the labor believe it or not! Tell your husband to calm down! =)

Uhhh...I never heard this before. I've heard that you should stop working at things like that before you become tired, but never heard that you couldn't vacuum. It would make sense to be especially careful about straining your abdomen when you do, but other than that it's not anything you can't do.

But I say if your husband would rather do it, let him!!!

Best of luck and congrats!

Ah, that's a great one! I'm sure that pregnant women are not supposed to vaccum, do laundry, do the grocery shopping, clean the bathroom, mop the floors...... rofl

If your husband wants to wait on you, I say put your feet up!
