For example, at work or going to the mall, do you automatically try for as close to the door as you can or do you go for the further regions of the parking lot where there's less congestion?

I myself usually will park further away. Less congestion and I definitely could use the extra walk. In addition, there's less chance of some moron scratching my car! D-:

And you?

Thanks!

Only if I'm in a hurry.

Well from working at a mall a few years back, my car is already all dinged up...I've had this car forever. So, I vary where I park now. I like to park far for the walk as you said, but I could care less if someone dings my car now...it's that bad...l probably wouldn't even notice a new one. I think this car has bad luck b/c even my dad accidentally made a bump on it while backing out of the driveway. If I'm in a hurry I'll park close.

Quite honestly, I always park out further away from the place I want to go. My reason is I am in fairly good health, and I don't normally go shopping unless I have plenty of time...not rushed. So, I normally park further away because I know there is someone out there who needs to park closer than me; unable to walk or get around as easily as I can or a young mother with a child for example. I don't mind the walk and I just feel a little better knowing that maybe...MAYBE, I made it a little more convenient for someone else.

It depends. If it's really cold or raining I park closer, otherwise I park further away. During the holiday rush I park further away too because it's just a waste of time to try to find a close parking spot. The time it takes to drive around I could have been parked and in the store already.

I park in the first open space I find. I don't mind the walk and I am certainly not going to sit there waiting for a woman to pack her 5 kids and shopping into the mini-van just to be 12 feet closer to the store.

Same as you. I hate fitting over a parking spot and it seems everyone else wants to be closer to the door.

Plus, I need the excersie myself.

And if I do get a good spot (really close to the door) and I notice some one waiting for my spot, I take my sweet a** time pulling out.

I park far far away .. Like in Sears where no one else parks.

If I park in crowded places I lose my car and can't find it. I'd rather have to walk half a mile to a car that I know is there rather than walk 20 miles in circles lookig for my car.

Around Christmas time, I've been known to drive around the parking lot for an hour to get a close spot.

Somewhere where there's less congestion but still close to the door.

I automatically head for the further regions.

Ever get stuck behind some idiot who is more than willing to block traffic while they wait on someone to load up their car and leave? I avoid that.
