Oh my god, no, no ,no, we cant do it, i lived in Germany when it first came out there, we went sure how it would take off, and the Germans hated it because the price of everything nearly doubled, the week before just say a packet of biscuits cost 2 German mark, it would now cost 4 euro, well over the exchange rate, tell me how that works we didn't get it how can the price double, it will happen here if we adopt this currency, why should we loose our identity, stick with the pound any day. To the person 203 the reason there mortgages are cheaper is because they take them out over 100 years and pass them on to family sons or daughters that brings the cost of mortgages down also they have the most gorgeous property's they would cost the earth here something they should do here that i agree to.

As individuals, our mortgages would be cheaper, quite a significant advantage considering the UK's high house prices and high rate of home ownership compared to other European countries.
As individuals we would of course also collectively save millions and millions of pounds/euros each year on foreign exchange charges when going on holidays.
I remain quite open to the idea of the UK adopting the Euro.
British Euro coins would have the Queen's head on them, It's still money!

I feel the UK is really different from the rest of Europe, in most things including our general lifelstyles and attitudes. The Euro is for Europeans, and as the UK does not give the impression of being European, it should just keep to its traditions.

I would rather have the euro. My brothers country changed a few years ago, and he prefers it.
