I broke an ankle from an accident at work. Three bones.

Most over-the-counter (i.e., non-prescription) vitamins and "remedies" leave the body within minutes or hours, so not enough remains to help your ankle. Calcium and other minerals are retained longer, but unless you can put weight on your ankle (which, I presume you can't!), the minerals won't "go" to that site, and, thus, are useless.

If it hurts, then your doctor should have prescribed a pain killer and/or anti-inflammatory medication for you. Presumably, you're ankle is in a cast, so you can't put any topical ointments on it. If your ankle is NOT in a cast, then I'd like to speak with your surgeon about his technique! ;)

"Time" is the best cure. Try to stay still for as long as possible. Your doctor and therapist will help with your recovery. Do as they say, and you'll be fine (eventually!). Stressing about it won't help.

Eat healthy in general. All the nutrients you will get from a balanced diet will help every aspect of your recovery. The antioxidants in the vegetables will make your immune system stronger, calcium from dairy products will give your bones plenty of bulding materials, the carbohydrates from starches will give your body the energy required to heal.

Don't forget, your body consumes calories for fuel. You body needs more calories than normal to heal properly. Especially with the three bones broken, you should consider consuming 1000 more calories than normal, at least.

Also, get what little exercise you can, to keep your cardio up, so your body has as much oxygen as it needs to help the healing process.

Just live a healthy life, and you'll recover great. Eat/Drink a little more calcium rich foods/beverages and keep your calorie intake up(while keeping a proper diet)

Taking calcium with Vit D can't hurt, but the fact is nothing will make your bones heal faster.

Afew don'ts, for you. No anti-inflammitory drugs. They have been proven to slow bone healing, as has smoking

Vitamin C, D and plenty of sunlight.

Multi vitamins should cover alot of what you need plus try to eat more veggies.

Wish you a speedy recovery
