Very embarrassing, but I think we've all been on one side or the other of this situation: You or someone you're speaking with has, well, a noticeable booger in the nose.

Is it acceptable to mention it?

Thanks, everyone!

It's more acceptable than letting some poor sap walk around all day with a boogey hanging out only to be humiliated and want to die of shame when they look into a mirror and see what everyone else has been seeing all day. I would just try to discreetly say something to them like," you have something kind of under your nose there."

I would sure want someone to inform me of this! I've even said it to a co-worker with a nose piercing b/c it looked like a booger!

Absolutely and I hope someone would tell me. But if there are a lot of people around do it without embarrassing them. Try to get their attention and not everyone else's. But if it's a good friend of yours just say something like, "You got a major cliff hanger"...lol

Depends on who it is, but if it's someone who won't make your life miserable if they take offense, just hand them a tissue and give them a little bit of a sheepish look.

They almost always get the hint and I've never had anyone get upset by this approach. Just the opposite, they've always thanked me for the heads up. I just say, "You're welcome, I'd hope someone would tell me," and wink.

You know you hate too, so you look, look away, make a face...........SAY SOMETHING! Would you want to walk around with toilet paper coming out of your pants and no one tell you. I think that people rather be embarrassed for a second when you tell them than getting home and realizing that they were out all day with something on them.

Politely say, you have exudate in your nares that is trying to escape. It is waving the flag of surrender. Would you like a tissue?

HA!

Yeah, I tell them about their booger farms during exams too.

I just tell them straight out so they won't get too embarrassed later on. Just don't make a big deal about it when you do mention it.

In a situation like this, delicasy is required. You can say:

Excuse me, but is your brain leaking from your nose.
Or:
Hey, a little salt will kill that slug on your faCE.

But I always opt for the classy "Yo, boogerface, wipe it before it gets on your shirt"

;-)

I have always let people know if I see something hanging in their nostrils. I would want someone to tell me and save me the embarassment!
