Mongolia is the right answer.
It is a landlocked nation,
and that's where Mongols came from.

Actually, the Mongols were a large number of individual tribes - nomadic horsemen. The key to Genghis Khan was his ability to unite them and have them all work and fight together instead of fighting with themselves.

If all of the 'Indian' tribes in America
had been able to unite as the Mongols did,
they might have resisted European/American domination
much more effectively (though technology would still have done them in eventually).

That's true way back in the 6th century, took over and terrorized Europe by storm.
But strangely when the leader died they simply picked up camp and left overnight.
One Village in France , can't recall the name of it, all the babies are born with a blue mark on their tail bones.
A mark of a true Monglian desendent.
They left their mark.
