I don't think a restraining order is going to stop him from sending pictures by e-mail or distributing your videos.

What the cops think is irrelevant. Don't bother with them.

You can get a restraining order from most courts simply by saying the magic words "I am afraid of him." That nearly always works.

The restraining order (once served on him) will prevent him for having contact with you, through a third party, or coming to your home or work, but it probably won't stop him from e-mailing pictures that you voluntarily posed for and he has legally. Same with videos. I doubt that a judge will extend the order to cover those activities.

If you have a remedy, it is probably not going to be a restraining order. However, if you have money to burn, hire a lawyer and see what happens. It is enough of a gray area that it might be worth a try.

You get a restraining order by applying to the court. However if he took the pictures and is not selling them there may not be a lot you can do about it. He owns the copyright to the photos.
