My husband and I got married at 23 weeks pregnant. Right now im 31 weeks along and planning our honeymoon. At 6 months old is it safe to leave baby with family members and go on a honeymoon for a week??

If not when is the soonest we could?

It's whenever you feel comfortable leaving your newborn. Sometimes parents are so attached, they can't leave them. If you're breastfeeding, pump a ton before you leave and give the caretaker bottles. Or make sure there is enough formula for however long you're gone. My friend went on her honeymoon for 5days when her daughter was 6weeks old. Make sure the family members are confident in taking care of her.
Have fun!!!

Well it could all depend on if you plan on breastfeeding. If you don't then you could leave her anytime after 6 weeks (doctor wouldn't like if you leave before being checked out). If you are breastfeeding I'd wait until your baby is weaned.
I have left both my babies over night at 6 weeks. Formula for the oldest, and I pumped with my second. I don't remember the first time I left my oldest for a week. But it was probably before 6 months. My new baby is 4 months and I haven't left her for that long yet because i'm still nursing.
The other side of the situation is if you never leave your baby you end up like my sister who had three kids and had never spent the night away from them and her oldest was 7. Please don't do that. Your marriage is more important than that.

yes is fine. Keep in mind 2 things: 1. Leaving your child for the 1st time is harder than you think. 2. Make sure that when the baby gets here he gets to spend time with the person you think will take care of the baby. That way it will be easier for all (you, the baby and the person you are leaving him with). Have a happy honeymoon and congratulations on your 1st!

I left my son at 7 months with my husband, but still, and took our older one with a friend and her daughter on a Disney Cruise. We were gone for a week. I'm telling you though, it was really hard for me to be away from him for that long when he was that young. If you think you'll be fine then do it. As long as you are comfortable with who you leave the baby with it should be fine.

When ever you feel comfortable leaving your baby and if the family agrees you should be ok. Dont go for too long or go too far just in case there are problems. If you are breastfeeding this might be little more difficult.

Yes! Of Coarse!! It will be a GREAT way for you and your husband to reconnect after having the baby. As long as your baby is left with people who you trust then you have nothing to worry about. Congrats on getting married!! Have a wonderful time!!

I see nothing wrong with that...when my daughter was 6 months old, I let my parents take her from CA to wyoming and they drove the entire way!!! As long as you trust the person your leaving your child with, you should be able to enjoy a honeymoon!!! Go for it and have fun!!!

As long as you trust the family members, yes, it's fine...enjoy your honeymoon. Why would it not be safe?

That should be fine as long as it is with someone that you absolutely trust. Make sure that all the necessary things for the baby is with them and health ins. paperwork. You may also need to have a note for the ped. allowing them to take your baby to the dr. if they need to.
