My father in law does not play golf. He likes to do things around the house, but he has every tool known to man.

My grandmother is in her 80's. I got her a bathrobe last year that she loves. She has slippers. Not sure what she would like. She has everything.

See my predicament! Any ideas? Thanks!

I know the feeling.
Get your father a Sears, Manard's etc gift card.

For my Grandma I baked her goodies for her, or make her your own gift card for lunch (just the two of you) and maybe a movie or shopping...your treat after the holidays. She will love it!!!

Granny first! I bought my grandmother a foot comforter with heat made by Scholl. It's a large foot muff that heats up and keeps her feet really cozy when watching TV. It even has a massage program to stimulate good circulation. A little bit pricey. Less expensive would be a really good foot spa. That would also help with the circulation. She could use warm water and some nice bath salts - not oils, too slippery - to put in it. Most elderly people have problems with their feet and/or circulation.
Father in law. Two ideas here. He probably has various tool boxes but does he have a tool chest - Like a really big cupboard or cabinet that has drawers and places to hang electric tools - like the ones you have in a car mechanic garage! He could then really organise the bits and pieces and the tools in one place. Or... does he have a work bench - lots of these around with vices and they are collapsible to the width of two A4 sheets across.

Good luck!

I've recently written this advice to another, but it's how I've already gotten half of my ideas: visit www.gifts.com There, you can select the occasion, person you're shopping for and their personality type. Then you'll be given several pages of ideas to shop from. Not all of the gift ideas are fabulous, but at least it gets the brainstorming going!

Also, might I suggest checking out pajamagram.com for your grandmother? They come in these great hat boxes and are reasonably priced.

Happy shopping!

Every year there are new and fun little tool gadgets. My husband loves the flashlight that I got him on a tripod (Target store) to use when he's working on stuff.
How about getting grandma some flannel sheets for her bed or a cute sweatshirt for the holiday.

Father-in-law: What about getting him a project? Like a model kit...airplane, boat...etc. or what about buying him an experience? Carpentry course? or a magazine subscription for a Home improvement magazine?

Grandmother: Does she like gardening or sewing? any interests? Again what about a Magazine subscription or a voucher/gift card for a garden centre, needlework shop?

Are the grandchildren the right age to assist in making something for her? i'm specific it would propose lots to her. they might help in making cookies, candy, artwork, Christmas tree embellishes, etc. a scrapbook may be an astounding theory too.
