Anne Murray had brothers who told her to lay off the Country stuff. But she ignored them and made it big. Her biggest tune was Snowbird. I think that she was so nice and very charming; but she never flaunted or pretended to be better than others. She was an all-around nice lady. Anne is originally from Canada; of course.

Yes,but I wouldn't consider her country. More adult contemporary than anything else. She should be in the same catagory with Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond. She had a pretty voice.

I'm with Ace. Decent voice but I don't see her as a "country" singer really. Probably says more about how "crossover" country radio was in the 1980s than anything.

Yes. What about Dusty Springfield, a Canadian that sang country?

wonderful singing voice, yes she is Canadian, however, her stage presence is very flat & dull, which is probably you don't see her anymore. saw her in concert twice & both times felt like she'd rather be somewhere else! now I just listen to her on CD.

Snow Bird. But she had a fine set of pipes. Canadian, wasn't she?
