This is a hard one.... if you're intentionally parking across two spaces, I can't think of a good reason and so, no. It's not acceptable.
But - what if you're forced to park in two spots because some bozo can't park in between the lines that are painted there for everyone except him (or her) to see? Then, you've gotta park over a bit and then the next person has to park over a bit... and so on and so on.

No, I don't think it's ok to take up two parking spaces, in fact, I find that rather annoying whenever I need to find a place to park and there aren't any and I see someone else taking up two spaces, or even more annoying, leaving a grocery cart just sitting in a parking space, talk about lazy. I think it's inconsiderate to other customers, and you should generally consider others as well as yourself.

Only if you're parked far enough away so as to not use spots that would have been occupied had you not been greedy. Seeing as how people just slam their doors into neighboring cars though, I will probably do that when I get a new car. I will park far away though and not block spaces that would have been used and I can burn an extra couple calories.

I have a story. A few of friends of mine went to Wal-Mart. There was a SUV parked across three lanes. They guessed the guy parked that way to avoid someone denting his car or something. Some wanted to key the car, however, one had a better (and more legal idea). He got on his cell phone and called his brother. Got the brother to get there in a hurry in his car. They then parked in the spaces on either side of the SUV. It was now blocked in. They went to Wal-Mart and then walked to a movie theater and watched a movie. It was probably 4 hours later when they went back to get their cars and go. All three were still there. Whoever parked there was nowhere to be seen.

If there is a legitmate reason to take up 2 spots then i'm all for it.. big commercial trucks, vehicles with trailers,, thats cool.. but just because you can't fit your F250 in one parking spot doesn't mean the rest of us have to suffer. Over bloated SUV"s fall into that category.. if you need a car that big get a freakin bus!!!

sounds selfish and greedy if you're taking up two parking spaces. Give way to others, too, important, you got one for yourself.
It's only be okay if there are vacant spaces, then can get two.

No. It is never okay. Dumb*sses either do not know how to park or that cannot fit their big pretentious Hummers and SUVs into a normal space, so they have to take two. A**holes.

Only if you're parked really far away and it's not during the Christmas holiday when the parking lots are packed full. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter to me.

only if you have a brand new car and you park way the heck out at the end of the parking lot, where nobody else ever parks.

If your truck is wide like a hummer or F250 otherwise people open up their doors on you or vice versa but I do think it constitutes you parking towards the back as well.
