Is this an actual Australian rules football slang term? I know what a "glory hole" is but I shudder to think how that might apply to football?!?!

A glory hole is a hole (normally in a public place eg. toilet cubicle) that 'nefarious' horny men stick their willies through for others to suck them ;-)
