I think you can give them the thumbs up either before or after you choose them as best answer, and they'll still get the extra point. You're allowed to get up to 50 thumbs (for 50 points) if you come up with a really good answer.

Yes, but you don't have to give them the thumbs up BEFORE you give them best answer, they'll still get the extra point if you give a thumbs up afterwards.

Yes, it's true. You can also give your friends more points by going to their profiles, clicking on every question where they already got "best answer" then giving them a "thumbs up" because they continue to get a bonus point for every thumbs up they get even after they've been chosen as "best answer." Up to a maximum of 50, the thumbs up continue to earn people points.
Even if their account has been suspended, they keep getting points. Fyre & Reign is up to 102,500 points now because she's continued to win "best answer" and get "thumbs up" after being suspended. She had like 102,200 when suspended.

Yep, not only 11pts but all the thumbs up they got on that answer. However as some stated points after best answer thumbs up but I don't Think it's working.

If you give them best answer, yes.
Best answers can still generate points after the fact if people thumbs up them after it's resolved.

First chose best answer. Then give a thumbs up.

I've noticed that when I get 11 points for a best answer so yes I think it is.
