The human body is basically the shape of a star. Use that. Her head can be one side. Each arm and leg is one side. Rather than something hard sided, I'd use something a bit drapey for her comfort (and those around her). Start with white sweats. Right in the middle, attach drapey fabric going 6 ways - attach to each wrist and leg with a stretchy "bracelet" for easy on and off. Run fifth & sixth up each side of the head. You can do a wire "rod" up the back of the neck to hold them up, or a hat of some kind (I'd make them meet above the head so her face is "in" the fifth branch of the star. Maybe put a gold sparkley star over where all the fabric meets on the chest/tummy. She has room to move, but when she stretches out her arms and moves her legs apart she's a star.

Since you asked for a website, I did find these instructions online:
Time: Less than 2 hours
Effort: Easy – no sewing required
Materials:
Poster board – two sheets
Glitter and glue
Paint (glow-in-the-dark paint recommended) and paintbrush
Leotard or sweatshirt, and tights in a color that matches the paint
String
Wooden spoon
Scissors, pencil
Instructions: Cut the poster board into a star shape that covers your child from the neck to mid-thigh. Trace the star onto another sheet of poster board, so that you have two identical star shapes.
Paint the stars, then glue on lots of glitter. Make a smaller star for a wand. Paint it, toss on some glitter, and then attach it to the wooden spoon.
Once the paint is dry, punch holes in the top edges of both cardboard stars, and thread string through the holes as shoulder straps.

Do not sew it! Get some White Posterboard, 2 pieces shoud make a Big Star....you can glue Fabric on it, or staple it, or even sew it on your machine with a heavy duty needle, or use Glue and Glitter. Attatch Straps that Loop over each arm or tie or belt around her waist...the arm Loops are best, and maybe one around her middle...These Loops must be securely attatched to the Cardboard...sewn or stapled or both, or you can cut slits,or holes and knot the straps in the back...Good Luck, try it, I think it will work! I used to do lots of Costuming, and this is what I would try first!

Cut 2 large body size stars from cardboard and attach using 2 pieces of ribbon to make a star shaped sandwich board. Cut out a hole for the head and paint. Hope your little girl is a star in the play!! Sorry about the lame joke!

hi, stop thinking of a star and start thinking of two triangles.
Now imagine her face in the middle.
I am sure you can do the rest yourself with some wire covered in a soft sponge to protect her face and then cover the whole thing in a shiny silky material. The centre could be elasticated to fit the face perfect.
Go on you can use a machine so you must be cleaver, have a go.

Well cardboard is the main thing you need... Make them in cone shapes (you need 5) then at the end leave anough space for the arms, legs (they can stick on no one expects you to do a brilliant work) on her head she can wear the fifth cone then do a jumper plus short/trouser with the same material as the material you want to cover the cones with,...
if you hate my idea then i'm not offended :) good luck with your sewing

Get a cardboard box, cut 2 exact stars out of it that will fit over the child. Duct tape them together leaving openings for the kid to get in. Cover it with tin foil. Dress the child in a grey hat, gloves and pants.Good luck, sounds fun.
