I have considered the I.U.D,and I think that may be better for me.. I have a child, and Iam only with one person.. I have been on the pill for over a year.. I have stayed at 180 for a long time. I diet, and exercise, and I still haven't lost weight. I tried the shot, but that was worse than the pill... I want to know how the side effects of the I.U.D are, and how YAZ made you feel.. Thanks.

Yaz comes with 24 active pills and only 4 inactive pills. This makes your periods lighter.

I also recommend Mirena. I have had it since my second child was born, and I love it.

I usually have a problem gaining weight on birth control, but I have actually been losing it on the IUD. The hormones are usually isolated in your uterus, so it doesn't affect the rest of your body. The only side effect I have had is no more periods. That isn't a bad one to have!

I have the Mirena IUD and have had no side effects from it. I love it. No weight gain.........and a plus is no more heavy painful periods.

Never tried IUD, but I heard weight gain was an issue.
I tried Yaz and it nearly killed me - depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, daily migraines, nausea, diarrhea.
Don't do it!
