Yes because even if I do not agree with some of the recent actions I will not take it out on the servicemen trying to implement government policy in spite of being underfunded, under-equipped and betrayed by our politicians.
I do not see how commemorating those who have died sometimes horribly, returned injured in body and mind to the extent that they wish they had died
can be considered a glorification of war
If it is let them have their two minutes of glory every year because it is all they are going to get off this government. I am not an ex-serviceman

You bet ya!

Great Neice of 5 members of the South Wales Borderers in World War I. Two lie buried on the Battle Fields of the Somme.

Grand-daughter of Welsh Guardsman in World War I

Daughter of World War II Veteran - Royal Corps of Signals, served in North Africa, Italy and Sicilly

(I'm 35 but my dad was 52 when I was born!)

Me, my partner and my baby son will all be at the cenotaph proudly wearing our poppies and laying a cross in memory of my Great Uncles George and Arthur who gave their lives so we could have a better one. And of all the brave men in our family who fought so valiantly to give us the good things in this country that others are now profitting from.

Can I please just share this with you:
Excerpt from a poem by Wilfred Owen called
"Anthem for Doomed Youth"

What passing bells for these that die as cattle?
Only the monstrous anger of the guns,
Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle,
Can patter out their hasty orisons.
No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells,
Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs,--
The shrill demented choirs of wailing shells;
And bugles calling for them from sad shires.

And yes, I will be commemorating Armistice Day. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that neither I nor my family would be here now, if it wasn't for the men and women who "gave so much" without a thought for themselves.

Having served 24 years in the forces two minutes of any ones time is not to much to ask to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Without those men and women this country would not be the great country that it is.

Wear your poppy with pride and remember.

I am waiting for the 11th Year, 11th Month, 11the Day, 11th Hour

From there the awakening is just a time ripple away - actually it will only be 405 days from that point

Get ready and clear your mind for the ultimate reboot!

Yep hopefully. I think no matter what background your from its a time in history that has occured which has made the world what it is today. I didn't have anyone in the war because at the time none of my family were in the UK. Yet i observe it in remembrance for those famillies who did lose something.

Yes I will, as always. I was born in the middle of WW2, and the freedoms my generation has enjoyed (the swinging sixties?) are due in no small measure to those who fought. Many civilians died too, lots of them doing essential war work, and I commemorate them too.

Yes, out of respect for the fallen. There is no glory in war, but those who gave their lives deserve to be remembered. Those who forget the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them.
