I love shopping for jewelry!! I'll imagine how I like to look at things. Rings should be displayed on a velvet rack this, with the little dividers so you can cleary see it all. Necklaces work best hanging up, maybe in some cool way like mounted in picture frames [minus glass] or something? Earrings are my personal fave, and I know I don't like to dig to see them. So you want them like taking up an entire wall or something! Or on a spinny rack. I don't know what you have to work with. For music? For some reason I keep thinking classical! Lol, sorry, I have no idea why. Just think of something that when you go shopping you like to hear. I enjoy listening to 80's music! For real, I will buy more if I hear my favorite 80's song on. I am a teen, so I know what I like. Best of luck to you! Have fun with it!

try to go for a 'theme' depending on the style of jewelery. My friend is also a designer and did two sales. One was 'seaside' based as her jewelery were all shells and stuff so she designed the whole place to look like a seaside with little ice cream and fish accessories and all her jewelery was presented on a bed of white sand. she also did a 'moulin rouge' theme where everything was very decadent and indulgent with feathers and masks and high heel shoes about the place and the jewelery was presented on black and red satin pieces of material. try and play music that fits your theme and style of jewelery.

also, maybe try taking some funky pictures of your designs to use in your display. If your designs use gems and jewles, get some table confetti from ebay or a wedding shop and sprinkle over your display. You can get little diamantes and other stones to decorate your display.

Hope this helped x

You would be better off selling at a recogized craft show or doing consignment with some trendy clothing botiques. Most people dont like to go to peoples homes to view things for sale. If you do still want to do this, make sure that things are displayed creatively to show off your trendy art, make music soft in the background so its not distracting, have security so that things dont walk off, serve drinks and snacks to encourge people to come and buy. Have a special way to package what they buy - handsewen cloth bags, small woven containers, fabric covered boxes etc.

Try one of those places like LoveBites and Bruises: http://www.lovebitesandbruises.com ... they're quite popular and "in" at the moment.

They do custom jewelry, accessories, badges, keyrings, trinket boxes etx. and are aimed at the whole Myspace teen generation, but I've seen a lot of older and younger people use them too, it's all custom so you order in your chosen design, so you can get added stuff like engravings, shapes, diamonds, crystals etc. added onto your design.

If you want help with designing, selling, ordering jewelry, or just stating your own business, their forums are *full* of jewelry designers (and some magazine editors and journalists are on there too - so you can get a bit of media attention) - a lot of jewelry bands made it big on there. There are a lot of desingers in their community that are happy to help people, and they offer free advertising and samples a lot of the time.

Good luck! :)
