does anybody know what this craft of weaving is?

i used to weave a rubbery type of string like material and i would use 2 pieces of it and after weaving it would form a box like design... or a rectangular type of design... if anybody knows what it is or how its done thatd be great!

and yes it was used with plastic laces, gymp..
