Anxiety is a common phenomenon and is nothing to be ashamed of. Going to a GP and being diagnosed is very simple, there are meds that you can take to keep your anxiety under control. If these panic attacks are disrupting your life, which I would imagine they are, there are many anti-anxiety medications to help you deal with them. In addition, breathing exercises and a daily meditation routine will also help you to learn how to change your body's reaction in times of stress. You will learn how to recognize and combat the panic, and instead breathe and get your emotions under control. I know that things may seem very overwhelming at the moment, but there is help for you, you just need to go and get it. Please take this advice and cease your needless suffering. The meds will help you physically, but in addition to them, you should seek a counselor to help you deal with your family issues. Good luck to you.

A few months ago i was in the hospital for anxiety and depression when i went into a panic attack the first sign was my throat would start to itch and then i would cough and then heat flashes to prevent this i would make a list of where it happened the most and then i would figure out why it happen i realized that i was also claustrophobic so when ever i felt too closed in i would have a panic attack so i started to avoid that also when my throat start to itch i would drink water or go outside and then i would be OK also the doctor gave me adavan and that helped me alot at first until i knew how to control it

my husband suffers from anxiety attacks since his fib. aorta. the cardiologist suggested some breathing techs. that have really helped
1-feel and listen to your heart beat as you take long deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth. try to concentrate on making your heart slow down.
2-walk around at a fast pace and slow down gradually to slow the heart down.
3-daydream about the one place you would like to visit, make it a relaxing visit.
4-take a nice relaxing walk, alone!!

I feel for you, its hard. You may need a xanax type of drug to get it under control..
You will be OK,,jut take deep breaths, exercise a lot...and try to sense when they are coming on so that you can control it!!
It willl be OK,,sometimes they diminish too.

I also have panic disorder, and OCD. I take medication when I have a panic attack. It stops them fairly quickly. You need to see a doctor. Seriously......chances are they'll get worse before they get better....
