I actually got an email from my cousin today... He is in Iraq and he said that they normally go a month without sharing and he greatly appreciates personal products(soap, deodorant, toothbrush, tooth paste, mouth wash and most important baby wipes) Also a good idea is make a photo album or scrap book... I know he misses his wife terribly and its even harder now since they can't talk and she is expecting twins... anything that is a reminder of home... God Bless the both of you and I pray he returns home safe and sound

im sure any gift you give him from the heart would be perfect..why not send him a hand written letter each day for a week leading up to christmas and tell him how you love him and remember your christmas past..send him pictures of those as well..you could send him a cd with your favorite songs on it...with a letter do you remember this song..it was playing when we went fishing last summer...etc. send him cookies and and things he loves at christmas my husband loves nuts..so you know some nuts and a nutcracker..send him a small tree you can get them at a local craft store with little decorations on it..so you can share this with him, my husband was in saudi christmas of 1999 and it was hard but it was harder on my kids..i hope you find some answers that help you and i hope you have a great holiday season even if he is over there.

It's the thought that counts! Buy her something that reminds you of her. Maybe you two have an insider and you can think of a gift that has to do with that. Jewelery is always nice, but a little predictable. I'd rather something thought from the heart, but then again is not too cheesy. My boyfriend made me a card which I thought was adorable, maybe you can do the same and just listen to her more for slight hints.

A good gift to send him,

a picture of you and him together.

Also, God Bless your husband for being in Iraq.

Nostalgia:
You want to send him something that is supportive of his efforts. You do not want his mind 100% taken away from his duty, so something that shows overall support. When I was in the military, I received a simple gift of a HUGE letter of a picture of all my family, and included in that 1 package, there were individual letters from "everyone" who was photographed, and everyone was supportive. It made me feel good, and made me more careful, so I can make it home in one piece.

Superficial:
Get him something like a Zune or Ipod that is capable of showing movies, and music. Then upload all of his favorites, and send it to him.

Good Luck and Best Wishes to you and your family... I would have everyone in the family get together and pull out some of their favorite photos from throughout the years and make him a scrapbook. Also, have all his family and friends write him a letter or Christmas card so he has alot of them to open and read.

Oh, and don't forget to get pictures from his friends from some of their crazy times together that will make him smile!!

You could make a calander or get one printed with family photos or his favorite things. So you could have a picture of you on the month of your birthday.
Go to www.pixmania.co.uk. They cost around £15.00

Get him an Ipod and download his favorite music on it. You can also put photos and videos of the family and he can take it everywhere he goes. I think that would be awsome.
