My wife and I want to name our daughter Britney Spears Christenson. Christenson is our last name. Is this appropriate? Spears is her maiden name and Britney is my mother's name. oh yes, this is a girl.

Is appropriate really the right word to use here? Since it is your choice and all three names are actual names then how can it be inappropriate? Is it a nice thing to do? That is relative. Are you a super big Britney Spears fans? Oh, wait, of course you're not, she sucks. Well, I would say it is up to you. Here are two people's names that I actually truly did know, one was Carnegie Hall and the other was Oscar Mayer. Did they get teased? Yes. Did they suffer? Yes. But, hey, she's your kid. Good luck.

I would not do it. Poor Britney is not a very good role model these days. And your daughter will probably get teased for her name. I would split them up. If you have two daughters name one of them Britney and another Spears for the middle name. I just wouldn't use Britney Spears together. Just my opinion...

Good luck!

Being that there is a very popular girl out there right now with that name that is not being a very good role model, I would think that when you introduce your daughter, you are going to be getting some pretty funny looks.
I think it's pretty cool. However... Spears sounds more like a last name then a middle name. What about using grandma's first name instead of her last?

I don't care who in your family is named like that, but Britney Spears is a huge debacle, embarrassment not to mention negative role model to kids today. Can you imagine the teasing she'd endure in school?

I sure hope you're teasing me, because I'm about to throw up.

It's not inappropriate if that's what you're asking. You even have alright reasons for naming her that, but still... I'd think it over. How 'bout Britney as a middle name? You'd still be honoring your mother.

Ok, I see the sentimental reason behind the name but I'd be leary on naming my daughter this name.
