Give people what you don't care to loose - giving free information for example. You help the world and spare yourself!

When someone proves the deserve your trust, then give them appropriate privilages. :)

The harsh reality is; do not trust anyone. I've been ripped off and stabbed in the back one too many times as well.

I used to be nice to people - expecting the niceness in return. It never happened, so now I've turned nasty towards others. It's the only way forward.

Well Trixy, you have just discovered one of lifes truths.Your short answer is,you cannot afford to believe or trust anyone you are not familiar with.I agree it is a sad world, but it is also a mad world .There are still lots of nice people out here who take you as you are ,don,t talk behind your back, keep their word and can be trusted. You just have to get to know who they are, bearing in mind ,they are having the same problem as you are.May the sun always shine on you .

I've been in your shoes thinking why waste my time trusting. I put up the wall, then sat back & waited to see who had the potential to try to knock it down... I stood alone, with no one even approaching me to see what was behind the wall. Then I came to realize that I HAVE to trust people. Trust until they are proven untrustworthly! This approach has opened up doors I never knew existed. Like attracts Like. I don't give all of myself to others, but they get the best of me from the start. Then it's up to them to be as true to theirselves & for us become closer & better friends... People come in & out of your life... Some stay, some do not. But wouldn't life be dull & drab if everyone were the same?

Hi, I'm Brandon, excuse me because I'm studying English and maybe you'll find wrong some phrases. as far as I can understand you're telling that in this world we can't trust nobody; well, I can tell you that probably the people sometimes forsake us, but I think that it depends of the people or "the world which you are", maybe you've had bad experiences but someone who had not have the same experiences would tell you "you're wrong".

In short, I'd tell you "you can't generalize"about it, therefore "you can't generalize in any matter", because we all are different.

Greetings.

These hard knocks should teach us to go slowly and basically trust no one until time proves differently. With time you learn who you can trust--or think you can trust. Just pick yourself up and try to go on with life. That is about all we can do. Good luck
