That's the difference between you and them. You accepted responsibility for your actions. This society is the "me" society and looks for someone else to blame when "they" do something wrong.
Kudos to you for being responsible enough!

Because we have created a society where everyone is a victim. People don't get sick with cancer anymore, they're a cancer victim, when you get shot while shooting at a Police Officer, you're a victim of police brutallity and excessive force, when you have low moral values you are the victim of a bad childhood, and the excuses never end.
People today have no concept of accepting responsibility for the bad things in their lives, but if something positive happens they want to be called a hero, a savior, a pillar of the community etc. and want a raise, a bonus or a reward of some type.

Why do criminals or abusers blame anyone other than themselves?
In my husband's case, he blamed me and his parents for his abusing me, etc. (although I was told his father never hit his mother so I don't understand how he thinks they showed him this).
Some people are mentally ill when they do this and do not understand what they did is what they did and that the policeman (or wife, etc.) is trying to take care of business. Some of them don't even remember (or claim to not remember) what they did after doing it, so blame whoever they pick, because they think others are the ones who are mental (the ones they blame) or that the others made them do it so in their mind it's someone else's fault.
People who are narcissists (narcissistic psychopath) or bipolars with narcissist tendencies while on a manic phase can fall into this category. They don't want to take the blame even when caught.
Not all people are like that though. Some mentally ill people or criminals take the blame of what they did wrong.

Because sometimes the "crime" a person may be getting arrested for is something that shouldn't be illegal and so they are defending themselves in their minds.
Or it maybe that they don't want to risk imprisonment and would rather die then live a life with their freedoms completely stripped away
Or it could be they are in a altered state of consciouses and are making an irrational decision.
I think it always makes sense though to assume the cops are in the wrong because as the old saying goes its better to let 10 guilty men go free then arrest an innocent man.

A simple case of being in denial.
The innner conflict caused when people don't like to face up to the fact that they only have themselves to blame for the consequences of their actions.
The result, lash out and blame the police for taking action or catching you doing what you shouldn't have been doing in the first place.

Because without admission of guilt they have a little bit of chance in court. I worked at a state prison here in florida... you would not believe how many convicts are "innocent" according to them. Every convict needs a fair beating. it's a reminder that in one way or another they hurt someone. I believe at any arrest if there is atleast a minimal threat of resistance... beat their ***!!!!

It is strange how those who engage in illegal activities become very interested in how the law should be applied to them in a way which disadvantages everyone else.

because, a lot of police and government systems are like slavery......they make money off petty crime and end up enslaving people in prisions for those petty crimes. If people want to do drugs, fine....the government just makes it illegal because they cannot profit from it.......they don't care if you do drugs or not.........and seat belt tickets, they don't care if you die or not from not wearing your seat belt.......its just another way for them to generate revenue.......!
