Hi

on pill since DS born. Had unprotected sex mid cycle once, when pill ran out.

Took test this morning & it was postive. Work out that i'm approxs 7 weeks preg.

Am I really pregnant? How will I cope with 2 under 15 months?

Taken 2 HPT & both +ve.

Surely you can't get pregnant so soon after giving birth.

It took me 4 years to get preggers 1st time round, so I thought we would be OK for 1 night!!!

Surely there is a chance I'm not?

after you give birth the hcg level that the tests pick up can still be traceable in your body, although after 5 months i dont think it would so its very likely you are pregnant. congrats!
it will be hard having two babies so close together but you will find a way to cope, it will come naturally to you and its worth it. there are 18 months between my brother and sister, my mum said its like having twins in some ways but its easier having them close rather than bigger gaps. im sure you will have loads of fun! good luck.

i have 12 and a half months between my 2, and i have to say its not all bad, when i found out my older one was 5 months, so i must have gotten pregnant when she was 4 months, i didnt tell anyone to begin with incase they thought i couldnt keep my hands off my husband lol. but when everyone found out at about 28 weeks they were all delighted, u will be amazed at the number of people who have 18 months or under between there kids, just think of all the people you see pushing a double buggy. they probably felt the same as you and i about it at first. my advise is to enjoy ur little one because when the next one comes along they wont be so little anymore. my 2 are now 16 months and 28 months and they get on great, they share a room and do everything together, i wouldnt have it any other way.
hope this helps, all the best

Well congratulations.

IT'll be difficult but you will find the strength to cope. Ask for help from your partner, your family and your friends. Don't stress over housework and cleaning. Don't be proud if people offer help.

It's amazing how we cope with things when we have to, I'm sure you'll manage just fine and just think you'll have all the baby bit over with at once instead of dragging it out over years. Your two will always be close and if you get two of the same sex the hand me downs will still be fashionable when the younger one gets them!!!

I lost 4 babies at 12 weeks so I know how scary it is but the main thing to do is try to stay calm as stress can make things worse, sickness can start at any time with my last MC I started feeling sick at about 3 weeks & had sore breasts so knew I was pregnant & sickness carried on for several weeks after my MC with my two successful pregnancies I didnt start to feel sick until after about 8 weeks. The fact that you are feeling so hungry is a good sign that things are okay as I know with me for the first 8 weeks of my successful pregnancy I spent most of my time eating, even had to get up at 3 in the morning a few times because all I could think about was food!!!! Try to take things as steady as possible, no heavy lifting & get as much rest as possible ( not easy with a 3 year old I know but try to rest as much as possible) make sure you start taking your folic acid too. My thoughts are with you & I hope that everything will be okay for you, Good luck & best wishes.

Go and ask your GP for a blood test, i had 2 under 16 months and i coped suprisingly well, make baby fit into the routing u have going for the 5month and when new baby arrives let older child help with nappy changing and bathing, then that child wont feel pushed to a side and can help mummy, lots of praise for the older child too. when i put baby down i sat and read books with my eldest lots of cuddles too helped

YAY! this is going to be so much fun!

You're pregnant, thats for sure.

You take all the help thats offered to you, and you ask for it when its not offered.

Once the first year or two are over they'll be so close in age that they can be best friends. It makes raising them easier and more fun!

This is going to be a blast! Have fun! Enjoy!

It will be great! No need to stress about it, lots of women have children close together. And think about it...since they are so close together they'll probably have a really tight relationship. Congratulations!
