Is it legal for a couple to sell real properties even without the written consent of their grown-up children?

Yes, unless the children are also listed as owners of the property. It sounds like someone is concerned about Mommy and Daddy spending their "inheritance". Children are not ENTITLED to anything from their parent's estate.
