I had my IUD taken out on 8/31/07. I had it for 3.5 years. I did not have my period during that time. I had my son in 8/2002. After childbirth, I was put on the depo shot and then had my IUD put it. I did not have a period during any of that time. So to make it shorter my last period was 11/2001. I had a 2.5 day period 10/02/07 and thought I was getting ready to have another. My breasts have been so sore for two weeks, it hurts to sleep. I don't feel bloated or like I am going to start, but I am moody and can cry about anything. I know condoms aren't 100%, but I have not had unprotected sex at all. Does anyone else have similar stories after having an IUD removed? How long did it take for your cycle to become regular? Should I be concerned about pregnancy, or is it just PMS?

I've never been thru this but have talked to women who have had IUDs and some of them have said that they had problems with moodiness on it, but I've not heard anyone say anything about coming off. It's very possible that this could be the body reacting to being off the IUD as well as PMS.

The only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they say.
