Does anyone know of zoos or conservation areas in which I may be able to help care for Otters? It does not matter where.

Many zoos have at least one species of otter, many have several so your chance of finding a zoo with some is rather high.

You will also want to look at Aquariums. Little different than a zoo but many of them have them as well.

A large number of zoos list the species they have (not a full list) on their webpage so to start just check out zoos you might be interested in. You can also try isis.org which is a database for zoos, it lists what zoos have what animals. You will not be able to access all the site since you are not a member, but it will still help you out.

If you are talking about sea otters and not river otters they are on public display at the following locations.
SeaWorld San Diego, Colorado's Ocean Journey, Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, New York Aquarium, Oregon Zoo, Aquarium of the Americas, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the New England Aquarium.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has a program called SORAC, Sea Otter Research and Conservation. This is where they do studies on sea otters. They also rehabilitate stranded sea otters there and release them back into the wild.

Another research facility is the Long Marine Lab in Santa Cruz, CA. The department of fish and game has four sea lions there, but they are cared for by the Long Marine Lab staff. They perform metabolism research on them, and also washing studies. The washing studies are on how to clean an otter that has been stranded or coated with oil. An oil soaked otter in the wild will die very quickly. If you want to volunteer for the Long Marine Lab project that works with the otters, you will have to work on The Marine Mammal Physiology Project. In addition to otters, they work with sea lions, and Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins.
