Wild Bill Hickok wore a belt around his waist that held two ivory-handled Colt Navy revolvers, butts forward, in open-top holsters. Doc Holiday preferred the 1873 Schofield break top revolver. Worn in this fashion, the six-shooters could be drawn underhand and spun forward for the Plains or reverse draw, or for a cross-body draw.

Doc (and you can trust me on this) preferred a Schoffield 44 caliber six shot revolver, although at the famous (or infamous) "Gunfight at The OK Corral" he was also armed with a double barrelled 12 gauge shotgun, with which he killed Frank McLowry. Wild Bill generally carried the Colt 1851 Navy Model Cap & Ball revolver.

The Schofield that you say to trust you on is a .45 S & W caliber, not a .44.
