I don't vote for the CMAs but if I did, I'm sure I could find a lot of other groups more to my liking.

They weren't snubbed. there have been in simple terms extra ideal performers and albums this 12 months. do no longer study any extra into it. "Taking the good way" is a sturdy, yet no longer large, album. Diamond Rio, Carrie Underwood, Little massive city, Brooks & Dunn, Lonestar and Rascal Flatts all had extra ideal albums and songs this 12 months. of direction, the ACM has additionally "snubbed" The Bellamy Brothers, Shania Twain (till 2000), and Conway Twitty (solo). The Dixie Chicks have already got 10 CMA awards and are the 1st u . s .-rooted act in Grammy historical past to get carry of three Album of the 12 months nominations. on the 40 9th Grammy Awards instruct in 2007, they won all 5 categories for which they have been nominated, which contains the coveted track, checklist, and Album of the 12 months. i'm specific they are no longer dropping any sleep over the CMA awards. i'm of course interior the minority. I hear to track by using fact i like it, no longer by using fact I care proper to the political ideals of the performers. i like Charlie Daniels track, too. i do no longer care that he's a rabid Bush supporter. i do no longer understand the way people can nevertheless be so enraged some remark made 4 years in the past with the aid of an entertainer some President, yet forget approximately a remark made 4 days in the past with the aid of an entertainer some former Senator. The hypocracy is laughable...

I agree! I absolutely despise the Dixie Chicks after Natalie started opening her big mouth. She said she hates country music.. if that's the case, why the heck doesn't she leave it?!

They WEREN'T dissed by Nashville. It is the COUNTRY fans that don't want them. It was the FANS that called the Radio stations and got them taken off. The Establishment wants them around. Oh and remember the fans don't really want the Establishment around either.

Maybe because they write good music. And they didn't diss Nashville, it was the other way around. And all because (oh my God don't say it's so) they used their First Amendment right of free speech!!
Apparently if you are not a Bush worshiping republican you are not allowed to express your opinion in country music. But if you are, you can do it all you want (Toby).

I support and defend freedom of speech, even if I don't agree with what's being said.
Natalie can say whatever she wants to. That's what makes this country great. That doesn't mean I won't listen to good music and the Chicks play good music.

No, they dissed the moron that thinks he's king of america and his fabrication of facts for getting us to attack a soverign nation, unprovoked so he could make his rich, oil baron friends more wealthy. It's called FREEDOM OF SPEECH. I understand that Bush lovers would rather not be reminded that there is a constitution here in the United States.
