My old dog who died, he got treats all the time if he looked at me. I am training our puppy that she gets a treat if she doesnt watch me eat.

well since I don't have a dog the answer is no. I do have a cat, but he doesn't beg for food as I keep his food dish full

Nope, its a nasty habit. Do it once and they will never understand that its not always appropiate.
