Woods is a relief pitcher now. He wont be in any rotation anytime soon. Prior has a shot but I wouldn't want him for the Yankees. We've signed too many pitching busts as it is. Still... there's a chance... for the right amount of money and an incentive based contract I'd take Prior. I'd also take Woods for the 8th inning and future replacement for Rivera. He's shown he can be healthy for 70 innings a year, but no more.

toodeemo, I don't know if you're a Cubs fan or follower, but the trainers didn't do anything wrong, it was stupid Dusty Baker trying to bring both of them back TOO quickly after the injuries they had suffered... and he used them too much...
both pitchers are definitely long term acquisitions... Wood could be a decent closer in the near future... Prior is very shaky... a team would have to hope that he can become a decent #3 starter maybe after a few more rehabs(ha, whatever that means)...
Reds fans, I feel sorry for your great pitcher Harang if Dusty gets his way... he will pitch him senseless until he gets injured, then try to bring him back too quickly...
it's just the Cubs' luck that Zambrano didn't suffer any major injuries to seriously hamper his career while Dusty was there...

Yes on either of them but only IF they could be had a very cheap price. Make the contract be one year guaranteed at a low salary with incentives to prove they're useful and make year two be an option for the club.

I would not give up on Mark Prior just yet. His pitching mechanics are unreal. I think there is still some baseball left in this guy.

Red Sox don't need them. With the young pitchers on their team now, the future looks pretty bright to me. Unless of course they decide to trade them for a better pitcher. Maybe Santana.

Wood is projected as a closer now. Prior? No thanks. I'll pass. The Cubbie trainers should be sued for malpractice over what they did to those arms.

It's funny. Do you know that for what they are paid they earn more than A-Rod because they can't stay off the DL! No, I think I'd go for some guys who can stand up for half the season.
