Here are a few thoughts about Mac's.
They are inherently more expensive all the way around. Software, hardware, and the initial purchase price will take more money than a Windows based PC will.
Here's a quick comparison: I recently spec'd and defined a Laptop witha a 17" non-glare Monitor for a friend. It has a 2.4 GHz Intel core2duo processor, 160 GB Hard Drive, 2 G RAM, CD/DVD +/- burner, built in Wi-Fi, supports Blue Tooth, and more.
MAC wanted $2899 for its' comparable model.
Dell wanted $1867 for it with $264 instant discount = $1603.
Consumer Reports rated these two laptops and the Mac scored 76 and the Dell scored 73. So if you want to spend the extra $1200 for essentially nothing then go with the MAC. My friend bought the Dell.
Regarding viruses. In the past, because Mac's used a different Operating System than Windows they weren't susciptible to most viruses because the viruses themselves were written to attack Windows OS's and not the Mac OS. The virus writers simply write their programs to attack the most machines and that is why Windows experiences more. That is the only reasons for Mac's experiencing fewer viruses than Windows users.
If you use the proper protection on your PC and keep those programs updated, viruses, spyware and adware threats can me minimized and you be quite safe.
I personally don't think the Mac's, Sony Vaio's, Toshiba's, etc. are worth all the extra money just to have their logo on the case of the laptop or desktop.
Hope this helps.

Hi, sick of Windows huh? Macs r pc's to. The disadvantage is that price for a Mac u get a much better pc. Yeah its true that Mac's have less security problems, easier to work with depends on the user them self. Some people like it, some don't. However why don't u give Linux a try. Linux has become really nice now, and its way more secure than OS X as well. Here r some good distributions:
Ubuntu Linux: http://www.ubuntu.com
OpenSuse: http://en.opensuse.org
Mandriva: http://www.mandriva.com
PCLinuxOS: http://www.pclinuxos.com
If u give it a chance u will love Linux. If u however want something setup out of the box and want an easy move to another Operating System then Mac OS X is excellent choice for u. I say go get it. Just make sure that u don't play any games or there is no software that u need in Windows that may not be in OS X. I hope I helped, u could also consider buying Windows Vista. I think its a lot more stable and secure to now that they have some Unix security features such as user account control so viruses will never be able to take complete control of ur system.
Good Luck and take care!

Your new Mac can installation a version of homestead windows XP or Vista on it, and as a consequence there is absolutly no hazards. Your question intimately (whilst working OS X): is there something considered necessary i will do on a pc that i cant do on a mac?: no longer probable contemporary video games won't many times run on OS X. like downloading torrents: Azurious has a Mac version could you recomend vista?: i could duel boot Vista on the Mac. mac is far less complicated and that i see each and every of the sensible those with them so i kinda want one understand.: Mac are used designed for people who do no longer opt to play around with putting they only like it to paintings. yet yet has the potential to allow for superior configuration.

Macs are great, but if you use a lot of outside software you might want to reconsider it. I switched to a mac, but ended up buying a PC to use because some programs I wanted weren't available for a mac and some of the ones that were cost a lot more.
As for viruses on macs... you are right about that. They are much more difficult to deal with on a PC

Yeah I did the same. Mac is fantastic. and you know why the mac is Virus-free? Because Mac OS is not supporting the exe. files. Viruses are eseguible files that self install the virus in to your system. Thats not the only reason to have a mac and it's very easier to work with. I'm sure you gonna like it...

They are less susceptible to spyware and viruses just because most of that stuff is written to attack Windows. As far as whether they are easier to use, that is going to be a matter of opinion. You should expect there will be a learning curve, because it will be different, but like anything else, once you get used to it you'll be fine.

Do it.
Right now, there isn't much of a virus, spyware or adware problem in Macs, but that doesn't mean they're invincible. Macs are easy to use, don't come with software you don't need, and are better made.
You'll be glad you did- I was.
