Sure, there are a lot of violations everyday. I just wish the suspensions were for just one or two days instead of permanently.

Hard to tell. I have lost 13 accounts since last spring and have never received anything but a form letter when I appealed. I sometimes do violate guidelines but try to stay within them for the most part. I have started reporting some violations by others but have not seen even one id suspended or deleted that I have reported. I think that if a criminal is posting here it is a serious violation of both the TOS and the Community Guidelines so I have begun reporting every poster who claims to be an illegal alien. They are criminals and advocating crime so they are not allowed to post according to both TOS and Community Standards. If illegal aliens are allowed to post why aren't child molesters allowed to solicit here? They are both criminals. None of us wants them here.
I don't think violators are handled equally here. I think Yahoo! Answers staff picks those they don't agree with and suspends them and leaves the ones they approve of alone despite their flagrant violations.
I don't expect #14 will last much longer but whenever they delete me again I'll be back the next day as Sherilynne_B15.

Yes that's the reason people get suspended for sure.
It's very ironic how conservatives constantly claim to be victims, something they love to stereotype liberals with. It's never their lies, cheating and hate that gets them into trouble no it are evil liberals and their almighty bias.
I'm really convinced American conservatism, the hard core kind anyway has turned into a religious cult and they think it's them against the evil outside world. They are the sole bearers of the Holy Truth and must defend America by any means necessary, including slander( think Clinton bodycount but that list is endless really) against the dangerous liberals who'll turn America in a communist third world country.
Reality science, reason and facts are less important than the ideology. The American political climate is seriously poisoned. The power of the far regressive right in combination with the disconnect from reality and seeing enemies everywhere is dangerous.

Yes there is. The guidelines are kinda vague though and open to interpretation. I see a lot of gross violations sometimes and don't know if those get reported or not. I'm really not sure how Yahoo decides who to suspend or not.

Oh yes, I am sure that some users have violated the guidelines, I have ranted a time or two or used a cuss word in my answers. I understand when that gets reported, in fact I have accepted that possibility when I typed my response. But recently the users being reported DID NOT violate the community guidelines and rarely do they, if ever.
Edit: Blueridge< I just admitted to doing something wrong, so you are wrong again!

I'm sure some may have violated guidelines but the lines aren't real clear either. I think we've all violated them at some point. Just depends on whether you have a target on your back or not.

Of course there's chance. I'm sure we all have done it many times. Rhetorical Q&A's, rants, insults... we've all done it a time or two. The thing is someone or a few select seem to have gone out of their way to report all the big contributors to politics and P&S. Many of my contacts have been suspended, from my opinion, unfairly (this includes people on the left on my contacts).
***lol, I didn't see blueridge's answer until after I posted. Now I'm starting to think she was molested by someone that happened to be a Republican because she has an obtuse opinion of Republicans. I'm one of the best because I used to be one of the "bedwetting liberals" when I was younger. I am now a Republican but I can understand liberals... .... I just don't know why they don't change a little to have a better life?

Not these of late. They were preyed upon by mostly Liberal trolls, that's how it started, then a lot of Conservatives sent emails to the Yahoo Action Team requesting a certain members account be returned, a petition. After that, Top Users started dropping off like flies, losing their accounts, getting suspended. Some of them Liberal, but almost all of them Conservative. The point being, don't question Yahoo, the Stalin of the internet, or you're deleted. That's what happened, point blank.

Yes. Some are in violation of the guidelines. But most aren't.

It's highly unlikely. Someone is using a troll account to submit multiple violations against top contributers. Like I said... Brian got 32 violations in the span of like 10 minutes before they pulled the plug on his account. That doesn't just happen... or people like Sam ba Bam, White Feather and Government Cheese would be history already...

I wonder about that myself. I thought they changed the format so they could review the violations as set forth in the guidelines.
Either they WERE posting reportable offensives or it's still the same ol same ol.
